  • To process subscription payments via Paystack
  • To respond to your support messages
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
  • To produce anonymised usage statistics (e.g. "our Maths games were played 10,000 times this month")

We do not use your data for advertising targeting. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your personal information with any company for their own marketing.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to:

  • Keep you logged in during your session ("remember me" functionality)
  • Store your preferences (e.g. which game mode you last used)
  • Protect forms against CSRF attacks

We may also use Google Analytics cookies to understand traffic patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may prevent you from logging in.

5. Children's Privacy

EduGames NG is designed for students, including children under 13. We take extra care with children's data:

  • We collect only the minimum data necessary (name, email, game scores)
  • We do not show behavioural advertising to any users
  • We do not allow public display of personal information (only usernames/first names appear on the leaderboard)
  • Parents or guardians can request deletion of a child's account by contacting us

If you believe a child has registered without parental consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete the account.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Paystack — payment processing (they have their own privacy policy)

  • Google Analytics — anonymised website usage statistics

We may disclose data if required by Nigerian law or a valid court order.

  • Prepared SQL statements to prevent injection attacks
  • CSRF tokens on all forms
  • Regular security updates to our server and software

No system is 100% secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Game scores and leaderboard data are retained to maintain the integrity of the historical rankings. After account deletion, we retain only anonymised aggregated data (e.g. "10,000 games played in September") with no personal identifiers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any significant changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always shows when the policy was last revised.
